Rich in linoleic acid, a fatty acid known to support the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss. Native to the Americas, sunflowers were cultivated for thousands of years before spreading through Europe in the 16th century.

GRAPESEED OIL (VITIS VINIFERA)

Lightweight and rich in omega-6 fatty acids, helping to nourish and soften the skin without heaviness. Traditionally produced as a byproduct of winemaking across the Mediterranean and Europe.

AVOCADO OIL (PERSEA AMERICANA)

A deeply emollient oil rich in oleic acid, known for calming and conditioning dry skin. Avocados were cultivated in Central America for over 5,000 years and prized by the Aztecs for nourishment and ritual use.

CASTOR OIL (RICINUS COMMUNIS)

THE STORY

Before it became shorthand for seduction and ruin, Alexandria was the most ambitious city on earth. A place built not gradually, but imagined into existence almost overnight by a 24-year-old Alexander the Great in 331 BC, during his conquest of Egypt. Ancient historians later claimed he chose the site after dreaming of Homeric verses describing the island of Pharos — a suitably theatrical origin for a city that would spend centuries performing power to the world.

HOW TO USE

Our 39BC Body Cleansers are designed for both bath and shower, transforming from rich oil into a soft cleansing milk on contact with water. Apply while in the shower or pour directly into running bath water to create a more immersive experience through steam, scent and warmth.

STEP 01 — PREPARE

Run warm water and allow the steam to fill the room. The heat will open up your 39BC scent. Create a moment of pause before cleansing the body.

STEP 02 — PURIFY

Massage the cleansing oil directly onto wet skin using your hands, a loofah or cleansing cloth, allowing the formula to transform into a soft cleansing milk as it meets the water. Wash throughly.

STEP 03 — SOAK

Remain in the warmth of the water for a few extra moments, allowing the body to soften and the mind to slow down. Let the steam, scent and stillness settle into the skin and nervous system.

STEP 04 — SEAL

After rinsing, apply body lotion, oil or cream onto damp skin to lock in moisture, softness and scent.

Yes. 39BC was designed as an oil-based cleanser that cleanses the skin without leaving it feeling stripped or tight afterwards.

Unlike traditional shower gels, which can leave dry skin feeling squeaky or dehydrated, our oil-to-milk formulas combine cleansing agents with nourishing plant oils to help support softness and comfort after bathing.

Skin is left cleansed, hydrated, and lightly scented.

CAN I USE THIS IN THE BATH?

Yes. 39BC can be used in both the bath and shower.

In the shower, apply directly onto damp skin and massage as the oil transforms into a soft milk.

In the bath, smooth onto skin before soaking or apply at the end of your bath ritual as a final cleansing layer.

IS THIS A SHOWER GEL?

No. 39BC is an oil body cleanser.

Traditional shower gels are usually water-based and designed to create a large foam. 39BC is oil-based, creating a softer, more sensorial cleansing experience that leaves skin nourished rather than stripped.

The texture begins as a rich oil and transforms into a cleansing milk when combined with water.

DOES IT FOAM?

39BC creates a soft, light lather rather than a large foam.

We intentionally formulated the texture to feel closer to a cleansing oil than a traditional foaming body wash. The experience is creamy, milky, and skin-softening.

WHAT DOES OIL-TO-MILK MEAN?

Oil-to-milk describes the transformation that happens when water touches the formula.

The cleanser begins as a silky oil, then emulsifies into a soft milk as you massage it onto damp skin. This allows the formula to cleanse effectively while maintaining a nourished, conditioned skin feel.

It is designed to leave skin comfortable, supple, and lightly fragranced after rinsing.

WILL THIS LEAVE RESIDUE?

No. The formula rinses cleanly from the skin.

Because the cleanser is oil-based, skin may feel softer and more conditioned after use compared to a traditional shower gel, but it should not feel greasy or coated.

IS IT SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?

39BC is formulated to be gentle and non-stripping, however all skin is individual.

Our formulas contain fine fragrance compositions alongside plant oils, so we recommend patch testing first if you are highly sensitive, reactive, or fragrance-intolerant. Our FIG MILK oil is currently best for a lighter experience.
